Writing about myself in third person makes me queasy.  So I pawned off this section to my husband.  Asked for a bio, I got a love letter and he insists I post this.  People please read this knowing that my husband is VERY VERY VERY BIASED.  And I’m not as awesome (no way near this at all) as he makes me sounds.

From the Husband:

This is a blog coming from the adventures of my wife, Yaz(notthepill).  Mother of my daughter, daughter to her mother, and friend of many wonderful people. At first glance, it may seem like your typical parent blog about life and the experiences of taking care of a family… but it is not.  No, not because she is MY wife and I am completely biased towards anything my family does… but because she is simply a person that carries a genuine interest in anything and everything, and when the luxury of free time is available, it will be figured out.

No, I’m not blowing sunshine up your ass either.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude majoring in Communications with an emphasis on Rhetoric (yes, I had to ask her quite a few times what that entails and I still find myself having to Google it once in a while). But, basically she can see when I try to BS her and she can call me out on it.  She studied and traveled in Europe for a year and can converse in 4 languages. (German is more attractive than you think but Italian is still very sexy).  While weighing options for a career path, she realized that the one consistent passion and some of her greatest memories throughout her life had been with food.  With no previous experience other than the home oven, she responded to a Craigslist job ad.  An interview later, she was hired to be the assistant to the Pastry Chef at a restaurant in Newport Beach.  It was in her stint there that she solidified the fact that food will always be a big part of her life.

Now, her passion has grown to creating the best for her family… whether it be growing an organic garden in the backyard, challenging herself to make everything from scratch, or making a healthier version of a traditionally decadent dessert.  Matched with the desire to learn from the best the culinary world has to offer using any resource available.  Who do you think benefits from all of this?

Her hubby, daughter, family, friends, and now… all of you.

Welcome. Enjoy. Eat Well.

– Mr. Yaz(notthepill)

Sigh. Gotta love that man.  And now for clarifications:

  • The four languages he speaks of are: German, Italian, Tagalog, and English.  I understand more than I can speak but I can get by.
  • I worked at the restaurant briefly.  I left after a month because we got pregnant and I was always sleeping.  I kid you not I think I slept the entirety of my first trimester.
  • Did I mention that he makes me sound more wonderful than I really am?
  • P.S. I love that he calls himself Mr Yaz(notthepill)
