I know that Christmas is long gone and now the first week of January is almost done but I still want to post some pictures of our holiday season. It was our second Christmas in our house and we still are quite meager in our decorations.
We did have our tree up, which the Mister excitedly put up the Friday after Thanksgiving. Many of the decorations were hand made by my mom around 2 decades ago. But my favorites are the ones that Mr. Yaz(notthepill) made as a child.
Like all children our little one loves the Christmas season. She even got her very own Christmas tree in her room. This delighted her to no end and helped her through being scared of the dark.
We did a lot of baking this season, but of course, including rolling and icing sugar cookies. This was Sophie’s first time being able to help out and she was so gosh darn proud.
We went to Mr. Yaz(notthepill)’s office where Sophie got to see Santa Claus. When she finally got to sit on his lap she quickly told him that she wanted a train for Christmas. This was the first time we had heard this so we had to do some last minute shopping and late night gift wrapping for our little one.
The day before Christmas my papa turned 72! This year I made him two birthday cakes. Lemon zest sponge cake layered with strawberry mousse.
He is so lucky to have his birthday so close to Christmas because he is always surrounded by family and friends.
And of course there was a lot of karoake.
Sophie made a few new friends as well.
Matt if you’re reading this WE LIKE THIS GIRL she’s a keeper
And that my lovelies was how we celebrated Christmas this year. There was some post season shennanigans with my lady loves but we’ll just keep those pictures to ourselves.
